SUCCESS - What Does it Mean to You?

By Matthew Flinton

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

What is Success?
Being able to do what you want...when you want?
Living a "dream life" with mansions, luxury cars, exotic vacations, high dollar wardrobes...is this success?
Serving others and assisting them in achieving their goals and dreams?
I truly believe success is different for every person. Though I do know success can be achieved by each one of us.
Ralph Waldo Emerson described success...
"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
My question to you is how are you going to be successful in your own life?
How are you going to leave the world a bit better?
How are you going to succeed in every aspect of your life... in your health... in your relationships... in your finances... in your spiritual growth?
That is the challenge we all face.
So let's look at how we can succeed in those areas.
Health... you must be cognizant of the foods that will improve your health and the foods that will destroy your body. Fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, legumes, water, green tea, milk, eggs, honey are foods that need to be the foundation of your diet.
The next area of health is your ability to move your body on a regular basis. Find an activity you will actually do consistently. Walking, weight training, running, playing basketball with your buddies... I don't care what it is... just do it on a regular basis.
Pretty simple... maybe not easy but very simple. Eat healthy foods and move your body!
Finances... identify a problem and create a solution. That is how you will create massive amounts of cash flow. We pay individuals major amounts of money if they can help remedy our problems... so again identify people's problems and give them the solution.
Shift your focus on helping and serving others and the money will appear. Now you must make the decision to be paid richly for your service but once you make that shift in your mind... get ready for the transfer of wealth!
Relationships... "give" what you want from others! If you want people to respect you... respect them first. If you want people to love you... love them first. If you want people to be kind to you... be kind first!
That's it... give... what you want to get!
Spiritual growth... the good Lord has a plan for your life...a divine destiny if you will.
To identify what that is... unplug from your iPod and turn off the television. Ask the Lord what the plan is and listen. When you receive the divine inspiration... act on it!
You must take an active part in achieving your overall success.
Begin today planning for your success and get to it.
Remember to enjoy the journey and God Blesses You!

Fridge Magnets As An Advertising Tool - Does It Work?

By Robert Badger

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Fridge magnets are gaining in popularity as a way to advertise a business. The one question that many people have is if it actually works. Although there are no guarantees on any advertising options, fridge magnets have a very successful track record for a number of reasons.
Refrigerators are one of those items that every household has. It is also located in a heavily traveled area and has many people opening and shutting it every day. Because of this, companies have decided to include these magnets in the reach of their advertising.
Each time someone walks up to the refrigerator, they will see the magnetic advertisement- depending on where they put the actual magnet. It is very common to place fridge magnets on the front of the refrigerator rather than on the side which means it is very possible that a person would see the advertisement every time. Once a person grabs what they need out of the fridge, they shut the door and have an opportunity to see the magnet advertisement once again. Every single time someone heads toward the refrigerator, this process happens.
Consider the fact that people go into the kitchen for many other reasons. One of these reasons is to wash their hands. Other reasons people go in the kitchen is to make a meal, do the dishes, get a cup or utensils and much more. If the fridge is in the garage, there are many other opportunities to see the advertisement as well. No matter where the fridge magnet is located, it will gain a ton of exposure.
Many people choose to create business card fridge magnets as a replacement or addition to the traditional business card. There are benefits to this including the fact that it will not get damaged. This route is highly successful because, unlike a paper business card, the magnet does not usually get misplaced. If someone picks up a card and then sets it down after a number has been dialed, there is a greater chance that it will be lost and not available for future use. When people refer to fridge magnets, it usually remains on the fridge because they walk up to it, dial the number and then walk away.
There are many ways that fridge magnets can be effective. It is important to identify a target market before deciding on which style to go with. Some companies get a huge return for using magnetic calendars or photo frames while others fair better with a simple business card look.
Choosing fridge magnets as a medium to advertise through is an excellent idea. It provides a huge amount of exposure which lasts a long time and brands the company name, logo and slogan multiple times daily to the people who see it.

When it comes to effective business strategies, consolidating your corporate identity, reinforcing your business message, and boosting sales promotions, companies sort to various ways. Using promotional items are one of the most powerful and compelling ways to convey and propagate your company message effectively. More and more companies today resort to this method. Businesses indulging in marketing and advertising campaigns effectively use promotional items for achieving not just short-term goals like boosting sales but also reinforcing long-term brand.
Promotional items are effectively used during trade shows, conventions, conferences, exhibitions, or trade fairs. You can even use promotional items for in-house motivation too. By imprinting a simple motivational or appreciative message on the gift, you can increase the value and appeal of the gift a hundred times. You can gift such items to your employees. Gifting promotional items once in a while boosts the morale of your employees and encourages them to strive harder for more success and good work. Promotional items have gained a lot of popularity and now can be seen everywhere. The only reason behind their popularity is that they work and that too within your marketing budget.
When you are selecting promotional items for your marketing and advertising campaigns, be cautious and take a careful step. Gifting poor quality promotional items can do more damage to your business than the benefits they intend to provide. Advance Your Career With a Masters Degree

By Deon Du Plessis

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Are you someone who wants to get ahead in your career? Do you want to get that edge that will help you get ahead of everybody else and get you into that position that you've always wanted? There are many ways to achieve your career goals but none are as rewarding and as valuable as getting a masters degree. If you look at the sheer volume of people who are currently out of work with normal Bachelor degrees, then its not hard to see that the bar has been raised.
There is no doubt that a tertiary education is becoming more important in an competitive job market. Just competing with all the other applicants who has exactly the same qualification as you can be very tough. You need something that sets you apart and getting a masters degree may well do that for you. Less than 10% of all graduates proceed to extend their education and less than 10% actually get a masters degree or a doctors degree (this excludes MD's). By simply furthering your studies you can really set yourself apart.
Getting a masters degree is also not just about getting ahead from the pack. Its also about specializing and really honing in on a specific area in your field. We've all heard it before but the world is becoming much more specialized and the need for experts in particular fields are increasing. A masters degree will enable you to specialize and to become more of an expert in something that you actually like doing.
Lastly, when prospective (and even current) employers see a masters degree on your resume it instantly changes their perspective of you. It really says a lot out you beyond the mere qualification. It speaks volumes of your enthusiasm, your ability and your general approach to your career.
Not only will a masters set you apart from everybody else, it will help you to reach levels in your career that won't be possible with a bachelor's degree. Why not look into it. It may just be that missing piece that you've been looking for. With numerous new online degrees available you don't even have to go back to school full time. You can do it for much cheaper, at your own pace and even get a very specific degree from international schools. I would encourage you to look into online schools. There are some great educational opportunities out there.

What To Expect When Working As A Certified Nursing Assistant

By Celeste Nurnberg

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Certified Nursing Assistants, or CNAs, play a vital role in the modern health care environment. Without the dedication and hard work of CNAs life for both nurses and doctors would be a whole lot more difficult.
When you train for your certified nursing assistant exam, you obviously don't have any idea what to actually expect for the job when you begin employment for real. Often your training will compose of an element of on the job training to enable you to familiarize yourself with the job and the environment in which you will eventually work.
If your training does not encompass on the job training, then you will usually be given scenarios that are designed to go someway to preparing you for what to expect, while useful, there is obviously no replacement for practice and time spent in the actual environment where you will work.
Hard Work, But Greatly Rewarding
Your day to day life as a CNA will be, for want of a better word, busy. There is no doubt that nursing assistants have a busy working life compared to many other careers, from the first minute of your day until the time you leave work, which may well be after your scheduled end of shift time, you will be on your feet and endlessly going from one place to another in fulfilment of your duties.
You will be constantly attending to patients needs, helping with meals and fluids, cleaning patient areas and moving patients between wards and different areas of the hospital, as well as offering an understanding ear whenever a patient has some concerns or fears over their time in hospital, or sometimes their lives in general.
While the work is busy, the rewards are great. Obviously, like anybody working in the health care field, a typical CNA is caring by nature, and by virtue of this takes pleasure from helping others and making others lives that little bit more enjoyable whenever the opportunity arises. There are no shortage of opportunities everyday when working as a CNA to bring a smile to a face, or make the day a little brighter for a poorly child.
Of course total professionalism is expected at all times, and required. A hospital environment is a hive of potential accidents and lawsuits waiting to happen, and you must play your part in ensuring your patients, colleagues and workplace are as safe as possible, and also that you carry out your duties to the very best of your ability.
Satisfaction, And Making A Difference
Despite the hard work, most CNAs will agree the job is worthwhile, there is a sense of satisfaction at the end of each day that some good was done, and that you do make a difference to people's experience and time while they are in hospital, and when they leave and go home, they may well remember you for the rest of their lives as the person who made what otherwise may have been a worrying and stressful experience, instead a much less traumatic and frightening one.

Tips For Hiring Your 1st Employee

By Ken Sundheim

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

As a small business owner, hiring your first employee is typically quite exciting as it alludes to the fact that you are doing well and are doing what every business should be - growing. Since employees can make or break a company, you want to start out on the right foot and, thus use this person to further build your business.
Though, keep in mind that you should not be hiring employees just because you think that having an employee is prestigious or that it looks good for clients. Ensure that business is coming in at a steady pace before you go through with the aforementioned search.
How to Find Employees Without Incurring High Fees
Unless you've allotted a fair amount of money to this search and you need somebody very specific, there are cheaper routes one can through rather than using a recruiting agency. Unless you have someone in mind for the job and can network, there are cheaper ways to find what you are looking for.
First, you can buy a Monster or Yahoo posting package which will run you a few hundred dollars, but if you find the right person via the route, the return on investment ought to be quite sound.
Then, there is the obvious Craigslist, though you are less likely to find what you are looking for through this medium. Linked-In is free and can also be effective. Last, and this is a route many don't think to go through, you can contact local universities and they should allow you to post the jobs for free.
You Have to Sell Them As Much As They Have to Sell You
For any employee, working for a start-up organization is risky as they don't know whether or not they will find themselves back on the job market in a few months with a resume that now reads less employment stability than it had prior to coming to your company. How do you sell them on the position? There are a few ways.
Make Them See Your Vision, But Be Honest
Upon meeting with the job candidates, be prepared to paint a vision as to where the company is going, how it is currently doing financially and describe as to what you wish to do with the firm. Conversely, if you tell them that you are sitting on the next Google and throw out lofty goals that you can't back up, people are going to shy away.
Have a Firm Game Plan
Prior to meeting with the applicants, have a salary and a job description set up. For a small business, since so much needs to get done, this can be somewhat difficult. Even so, try your best to be as specific as possible.
Give Them a Certain Amount of Autonomy
Even though a candidate resume may read "Sales," as a leader, you should challenge them regarding all aspects of the business. Small businesses have limited resources when it comes to hiring a first employee. In time, take a serious look at their capabilities and use all of them to your advantage. Not only will this help you, it will make the job much more interesting for the employee which means, among other factors, increased productivity.

Employees Who Commit Corporate Espionage

By Gordon Basichis

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Who are you hiring as your new employee? Are you hiring an applicant who with his skill sets and attitude will prove a valuable asset to your working environment? Or you hiring someone who is less than what they seem? Worse still, are you hiring someone who may turn out to be a corporate spy.
According to a recent article in the New York Times, among other places, corporate espionage is on the increase. In a highly competitive global economy, companies will battle for the technological edge in order to advance their market share and compete with their rivals. Western Technology is the primary target. This is no longer a case of stealing military secrets, but even the most mundane proprietary developments are coveted by a rival group. As well as the usual weaponry and satellite and submarine technologies, rivals put their spies out their to garner such elements as the special chemicals in a package film coating, proprietary technology for more advanced fiber optics, and the advanced components and computers and hardware. There is really no end to what products and trade secrets offer allure to corporate spies. For each secret you can steal puts you one step closer to your competition without having to undergo the normally requisite research and development.
Spies have been caught stealing secrets from DuPont and a paint company, Valspar which uses special mixes in its pigments. An employee at Dow Chemical was recently arrested and charged with stealing proprietary data that is designed to improve the insecticide mix. There have been employees arrested for corporate espionage at General Motors, Ford, and Motorola. In fact there are few major companies who haven't experienced some type of corporate espionage. A good many just won't admit it publicly. In all, it cost hundreds of millions and even billions of dollars in lost revenue, annually. Corporate espionage results as well in the loss of thousands of American jobs.
The companies most responsible for corporate espionage are based largely in China, Russia, and Iran. Our old favorites. What else is new? China denies this, of course, as does Russia, Iran, and everyone else who would rather steal what they otherwise lack the resources to develop. But it's true. It has been true for decades. We Americans just love to live in denial.
Some of the spies are foreign nationals, but a good many are American citizens. More often than not it is an inside job, that is the spy works for the company. Either the worker deliberately targets a company to work for so he can target desire secrets, or the employee has been working there and suddenly decides to get frisky. There are any number of reasons a good employee can turn bad, can resort to criminal theft and risk years in jail. In intelligence parlance the term ascribed to most motivations for spying is MICE. Money, Ideology, Coercion, and Ego. Idoeology used to be a big factor but in this age of self-aggrandizement, it is pretty much a bygone consideration. Coercion works if you first lure someone to do something wrong, adultery, promiscuous behavior, things that can cost him, and then blackmail him. Ego is a favor, knowing you are pulling the wool over the eyes of your employers and friends. It is not directly related but Bernard Madoff is a perfect example of that. And then first in the list, and first in priorities, is...money.
What a shocker, people spy for money. You could chalk it off to a tight economy, or you could write it off as greed. You could contend that they have been trapped into some heart rendering situation and that they are doing it for the good of friends and family. Mainly, there is nothing like sticking a few illicit bucks in someone's pocket to get them going in the wrong direction. After you romance them first, of course. Long walks in the moonlight, lavish dinners, sweet nothings about you being oh so simpatico.
Some corporate spies are assigned to the task and are there to deliberate penetrate a company in order to pilfer its secrets. A rival group from China or elsewhere may have a wish list on its mind and send in the spy as a worker. But most are already working at the company when they are approached by outside sources. The sources either provide them with a wish list, that technology they most desire, or they pretty much leave the door open and tell the willing spy to get what they can. But then there are the more enterprising souls who seeing they are in the espionage worthy catbird seat initiate the contact and make an agreement with the rival companies. They let it be known that they are for sale and willing to walk out with every secret or piece of technology they can smuggle out in computer or briefcase.
As the global economy continues to become more competitive, you can be sure there will be more employees willing to spy for another concern. The cases of corporate espionage are difficult to prove and for the most part sentences are pretty light. The sponsoring or rival companies typically fail to cooperate with American authorities or corporations. They may tsk, tsk for the moment and make some noises about regret and the lamentable mishap, but more often than not they just deny any complicity. Additionally, when Human Resources personnel hire employees, they can conduct background checks and while some searches will raise some suspicions, it is still difficult to determine what kind of thief you are getting for his annual salary, vacation, and benefits. HR can check references and clock the work dates where the job applicants were employed at rival companies. If there are large gaps in their work history, this is a red flag. Criminal records are obvious but federal civil records and county civil records may reveal lawsuits former employers filed against your shiny new candidate.
Last year I had published my book, The Guys Who Spied for China. This was a roman a clef detailing how spies operating in America stole both military and industrial secrets, often selling prohibited materials to rival nations. My research and involvement with that book and the events therein was centered in the eighties and nineties. Every other day it seemed there were new headlines about Chinese Espionage efforts in the United States. Most were slanted toward the theft of military technology but some to corporate espionage. During that time some of the spies were Chinese Nationals, but most were American Citizens. Enterprising souls who took advantage of their positions for personal profit. Some went to jail. Some didn't.
But now here we are again. I should really say, here we remain, still dealing with this issue as we in the West try to sustain our technological edge and innovative advantages. As with most news cycles, these reports about corporate espionage are coming in waves with increased frequency. When news saturation reaches this point, I would venture that some influential people have become very alarmed. Finally.
Gordon Basichis is the author of the critically acclaimed, The Guys Who Spied for China, a roman a clef detailing Chinese Espionage in the United States. He is the best selling Beautiful Bad Girl, the Vicki Morgan Story, a non-fiction novel that helped define exotic sexuality in the late twentieth century. He is also the author of The Constant Travellers, a new age, fantasy Western. Basichis is also co-founder of Corra, which as the Corra Group specializes in employment background checks, as well as corporate research and investigation He has written a variety of articles, screenplays, and has worked as a marketing executive and journalist.

The Recession and Your Endless Search for a Job Are Over

By Sarah Weinberger

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Today's Los Angeles Times begs for a commentary, sadly not in a positive way. The problem with a lot of people in the media and in government is that they live in a bubble, separate from other people in the world and the problems they face. You hear citations of talking with "experts", economists and government officials of various kinds. Reading the paper is definitely an exercise in patience. Who needs yoga, when the media exists with the possible exception of Keith Olbermann on MSNBC.
Have you heard? The recession ended in June 2009. You should get at least one interview for every ten resumes that you send out (source today's Los Angeles Times), and the people that are suffering are those in finance and manufacturing. There was a third category, but I forget offhand what that was. Jobs are plentiful, if you live in places like Washington D.C. The Los Angeles Times blamed the high unemployment on a mismatch of where the jobs are to where people live. People in California suffer because jobs are plentiful outside of California.
I live in California and am quite familiar with the job situation and the causes here in California, most specifically with the greater Los Angeles.
I was telling a friend of mine today about what the L.A. Times said and my friend's comment was two things. One, and he is closer to being right on the first point, is that it takes more like submitting one thousand resumes for every interview unless you are absolutely 100% qualified and your resume gets to the right person and you are the right age and this and that and this and that. I could hear my mother saying, "And if my grandmother would have a penis, he would be my grandfather." Exactly! I added that one has to be around 28 years old too. They are the easiest to train, look up to companies as something special, are dirt cheap, and will work hard and long hours. He also likes to talk about the liberal media. He is a Rush Limbaugh ditto head, Glen Beck too. He is wrong, obviously, on the second point.
I keep carping on the same points, but they are valid. First off, engineers and other white collar workers seem be be forgotten. Secondly, I am familiar with the profession, but before talking about engineering further, I want to digress to tell a story that I heard.
I talked with my sister recently. She is a medical doctor and her husband works in a hospital. I was told that up until recently there was a woman, who came by every afternoon, picked up the Dictaphone, and brought back a written transcription the following day. After years of service, how do you think that she was rewarded? Did she get a raise? Yes, just not the kind that you are thinking about. She got a quick life from having a foot hand on her butt and tossing her out the door. She was laid off. Why? The hospital could hire a company, in India in this case, at half the cost.
I used to work at Verizon. Before going on, I will say that I loved that job, the people, and learned a lot. What is also true is that Verizon was guilty of not outsourcing one job, but virtually the entire engineering effort. Not only did quite a bit of interaction involve interfacing with the Indian team (numbering in the hundreds from what I could tell), but I would say that over 70% of the people in my building were Indian too working on an H1-B visa. I was one of only a few non-Indians. That mix was not good enough. Verizon decided to close that building and handle the remaining work in Texas, at least until 500 unlucky souls there got the ax. Verizon was laying people off left and right during my term there.
You may say that Verizon was a special case. Nope. My next job was even worse. Let me just say that the next time you fly on a 787 Dreamliner, you can think of the plane as an outsourced plane. The trend is getting worse, not better.
Of the companies that I have associated with in one form or another, most believe in outsourcing like many believe in spending $5 (per day) on a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Some people waste more than $5 per day. I know of at least two people that fit that bill.
I am not trying to be racist, far from it. Yes, companies have the right to go where labor is cheap. I agree with that statement. They do whatever the law permits.
Before continuing, I talked with a recruiter recently and was told the outsourcing figure. There are currently about 6 million people working currently in the United States on an H1-B visa. The government created the H1-B visa program, so that companies could hire talent that was not here in the United States. The H1-B visa program morphed into a program that does everything but what it was meant to do.
The trouble with engineering and many other industries is not the recession. The recession is responsible for some job loss, as was the housing bubble burst, but not all jobs. Manufacturing jobs got outsourced. "American" car manufacturers build most of their cars outside the United States. NAFTA is a fancy way of saying take jobs out of the United States. That was when the problem started. The problem started with manufacturing and spread to many other industries.
What is my comment about the article that I read that a person should get a minimum of one (1) interview for every ten resumes submitted? If I were to say horseshit, which was my first thought, I would be saying something bad about horses, and horses are nice creatures, so I will reframe from that thought. Is there a word to take its place?
As long as I am venting, illegal immigration plays a toll. I know the Republicans want to score brownie points with their base on this issue, but there are jobs lost in this way. I was at a well-known restaurant chain recently. They definitely hire knowingly illegal immigrants. One bragged to me that he came here illegally from El Salvador and makes $10 per hour. He holds two jobs. No, I am not making that up, and God alone only knows why he told me or was bragging to me on the topic. Common sense would say that he would be quite as a church mouse on this topic. Is he the only one, nope. I feel for his story, but the truth is that he is taking away a job from an American. Okay, illegal immigrants is a small percentage of the problem and outsourcing the white elephant, but even so.
Our former president said that migrant workers (that seems to whitewash the real phrase, no?) take on the jobs that no one else wants to. Okay, I still do not know of a word to replace horseshit, because that comes to mind. The truth is that there is no one that wants to work like a slave for $2 per hour in the fields or $10 per hour serving soup or warming potatoes for guests on Sundays. I agree with that. What would happen if we increased the wage to $25 in the field and in the restaurants?
What would happen if Congress got some Cojones and imposed a tax on H1-B visa and outsourcing, ff a company wants to outsource work, it would have to pay a tax of 20% plus 1.5 times the amount of money lost than if the jobs were done here? What would happen if a company had to pay $2 million tax per year for every H1-B applicant?
The cost of goods would go up (guess what folks, they do anyways), but at least everyone that wanted a job would have a job. They would be able to pay for goods.
Just to address one other point that I keep reading about in the papers and is so total whatever the word I should use (thoughts?). "We are in a deflationary time, blah, blah, blah."
Supercuts charges $2 more now than a few months ago, which is $2 more now than last year. Restaurants charge significantly more now than in the past. I am thinking of a certain national American Italian chain that doubled their prices in about a two to three year span. Rents have gone up. Groceries have absolutely gone up and not by a little bit. Gasoline has skyrocketed. Airline ticket prices have gone up. We live in a radically inflationary time, just people do not complain and the media and government ignore the facts.
Another sticking point, as long as I am bitching, is a certain bank agreeing to stop foreclosures. How about landlords agreeing not to collect rent and the courts agreeing not to hear any cases of tenants not paying rent, hence no evictions. Did I make my point? I am not being heartless either, far from it. Housing costs had exponential inflation, not because people wanted a home, but because people wanted to become rich off of it, flip properties so to speak. Yes, there are those that really did get hurt, but a lot more that played the game and should pay the price like the rest of us.
I totally get ticked off hearing that unemployment is bad and that people who receive it have a disinterest in finding real work. That is the Republican mantra. I am not even being biased. They really say that and a lot. I hear this view much more so than how most people in the GOP are against abortions and "Don't Ask Don't Tell." Every other speech this year seems to evoke how benefits should be cut and how employees are lazy. Are you?
Finding work is a tough lonely job under any circumstances and especially if you are out of work for long periods of time. They are not lazy and really do work. I cannot give work to people and nor can I pass legislation, but maybe in my own small way, I can help by creating a program that really does help job seekers get a job. I wrote JobFish, because there was no tool, which truly helped job seekers. There was no company that listened to their needs. ButterflyVista has tried to live up to the ideal to help people. It was written by a job seeker, who knows from experience what is required. JobFish has grown a lot this year by listening to all of you and incorporating many of the comments. ButterflyVista in the future will continue to do the same.
I hope that with these blogs that there will be a discussion started and a groundswell building so that jobs really do come back and not just temporarily and at the expense of someone else. Politics and jobs are interconnected; they always have been. Fixing the economy takes time. Fixing anything takes time, but breaking it is quick.

How to Prepare an Attractive Resume

By Jacoby Smith

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Are you tired of sending resumes without getting results? Do you think your resume isn't generating those interviews that you want? Do you want to stand out from the rest of all applicants and clinch that interview?
Research shows that 95% job interviews are granted after the employer has become interested in the candidate's resume. A good resume has to make an impression within the first 30 seconds. It will not only open the door to an interview, it will often get you to the final hiring decision of an employer. So how do you prepare an attractive resume? Here are some tips that you can follow.
Read the job advertisement. Many people only give a short glance to the advertisement and then proceed to send their pre made resume. That's a big mistake. The applicant should carefully read the qualifications mentioned and make the resume according to what it's asking. A good resume should fit the requirements and qualifications that the employer is asking for.
Select your resume format. It's a very strategic decision to find the appropriate format that will show off your skills to their advantage. This has a real impact on the receptivity employers have to your initiatives. There's no universal "right format" for all people. The most effective guide is to review your own objective and background to know which one is the best fit for you.
List your personal information. Include only personal pieces of information that are related to your job objective.
State your objective clearly. Be brief and concise but also be specific to the position you are applying for.
Highlight your qualifications. A summary of your qualifications is a good way of getting the attention of the prospective employer. This way you can catch his attention and then he can review your resume in a short time. It should get through the message that you have the credentials and basic skills needed for the job.
Present your relevant skills and experiences directly. Create a list that contains the name and city of the company, dates started and ended and job title. This should be in chronological order. Keep in mind that you don't have to put numerous details about previous jobs are that are not necessary. You can also include professional membership information or trade associations to show that you also have ongoing interests.
References upon request should be written at the bottom of the resume. References should no longer be part of a resume but you need to have your references available for a prospective employer. Always ask permission when using someone as a reference.
Print the resume on standard letter size; it should be professionally typed using conventional English. And finally, re- read your resume before the interview because chances are; the interviewer did just that too.

Role of HRD in Textile Sector

By Gaurav Doshi

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

The advent of technological advancement in industrial set-ups has altered the working conditions and requirements on the part of employees and employers. Also the changes in government policies have also been taken place since the last decade. Different work patterns like night shift, part time work, overtime, etc is being experienced. The situation is same in textile sector also.
Now-a-days the recruitment of the workforce has become a specialized field. The main motive is skill development as technical jobs are becoming more complex and demand more professional skill. As at managerial and marketing level, skills and knowledge demand have increased in importance. So before imparting training with respect to textile or garment industry the training program should be so designed that it covers the skills that will be required in long term and short term basis.
Many countries of the world have understood the importance of human resource development, thus encourages the business organizations to take active part in designing and execution. The changing face of business organizations in national and international markets demands a new breed of skills that are non-technical in nature.
Generally, when some new skills are to be taught to upgrade the ongoing work profile, on the job training and special course classes could be arranged to upgrade the employee's skills and knowledge. But after a certain level, the recruitment of higher posts requiring specialized skills are done through direct recruitment method. If the employers wish to extent the contribution of laborers in growth in textile industry, then the laborers should be given technical as well as non-technical training to enhance their skills and knowledge base.
HR inference
Introduction of new technologies and processes in the textile industry have increased productivity on the one hand, but had been the cause of redundancy and eventual retrenchment for a lot of workers who used to work in repetitive, boring but labor intensive job in this particular sector. This condition is happening not only in developing countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc. but in industrialized countries as well, which were able to increase productivity through developments in technology.
With the technological advancement in the textile industry the overall production with higher quality is been seen, due to usage of high end machineries and technologies it has been a witnessed that the number of workers employed in the textile sector are facing job-loses. This scenario is same in developed as well as developing nations where there is increased productivity due to advanced technology, but cut in the number of laborers.
There are four elements of production namely manpower, time, materials and machines. Due to globalization seen in the textile industry out of these four elements of production, the two viz. manpower and time are to be cut down, i.e. sacrificed as the invent of improved machines and the cost of materials.
Due to the modern HR practices are affected by terms such as multiskilled, production measures, advantages of competition, casual labor, social security, subcontracting, etc. Now-a-days a lot depends on the bargaining power of the labor, legal policies and the scenario of the labor market. This has started since the foundation of WTO (World trade organization).
Human resource development
Textile industry gives employment to millions of people. In order to recruit skilled workforce in textile sector, proper training programmes would thus facilitate in supply of well qualified workforce. Thus the role of HRD has gained momentum in terms of employing manpower that satisfies the professional requirements of this sector and that is well skilled. Thus many collaboration among many multinational companies and educational institutions is been observed.
The HRD department of any company is responsible recruiting skilled labors and executives, allocation and planning of work, monitoring of workforce and performance appraisal. It is also responsible to timely upgradation of skills of the workforce by organizing educative professional workshops or seminars. If HRD activities are carried out in proper professional manner it could result into minimization of cost and wastage, right recruitment of workforce, increased stability of the company, flexible enough to cope up with futuristic developments and most important maximizes production.
Human Resource in textile sector
The advent of HR practices in textile sector was rather slow in comparison to other industrial sectors. But due to globalization there is increase in competition as a result development of human resource has become essential. However organized HR practices are being adopted mostly by the mill sector. In last decade we have seen not so good performance by textile sector, this was because of lack of HRD department in many mills. But the scenario has changed as HRD departments have taken up their role in textile sectors. Various training programmes pertaining to training of workforce, textile related topics have helped in enhancing the overall performance of the textile companies.
In order to get increased productivity from workforce it is essential to have a well framed HRD system in the organization. If the principles of HRD are adopted it could result in decrease in non-attendance by 20% and increase in productivity by 30%. So to cope up with the market competition HRD is very essential element for the textile industry.
HRD department is responsible for developing the feeling of motivation in the employees, this motivation in other words is the commitment of the employees towards the job and the organization. When the work of HRD is done effectively it would result into co-operation among team members, demolition of centralized system of decision making, creates homely environment, feeling of ownership and positive working atmosphere.

Persuade People To Get What You Want: The Only Tip You Need

By Nezrul Hisyam Abdul Ghani

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

For many, persuasion is an art and only a lucky few is fortunate enough to know it. In business and selling, persuasion is one of the most valuable skills to have because it can help to get the desired outcome, whatever that may be. But the tricky thing about persuading someone is breaking down its element to find the ones which deliver consistent result.
After years of getting involve in selling and share quite an experience in persuading the other party to our side, I have found that there is only one important thing you need to take care of when doing it, hence the only tip you need to know for persuasion.
And that is: Let others persuade themselves.
That is the best thing to spend your effort on and it consistently produces the results you desire. The question right now is: "How you get them to do that?"
Consider these facts:
1) You do not have the power to control others in their decision-making process. It is an electro-chemical process taking place inside the brain and no outside force can influence it.
2) The mind works in a self-organizing mechanism. The input it gets from outside will form into patterns that have been established prior to that, through education, environment and others. Combine with Fact No. 1; this makes decision-making way beyond your control.
Of course, you are not left totally helpless. What you can do instead, in a negotiation or selling situation, is to provide your prospects with enough information and let their self-organizing system form their perspective. You do not have to force them to accept your argument and cause your frustration if they disagree with you.
You just have to provide them with relevant information, and if possible, the ones that present both sides of the story. One tool that have been proven a success is the scanning tool, created by Edward De Bono, called 'PMI' which stands for 'plus', 'minus' and 'interesting' points.
In this tool, you did not feed your information to your prospects but you just ask them to scan their current environment for any point that is perceived as positive, minus or interesting. From there, they can see if your proposal has any added value.
It is also important to note that, from many field observations, the error of thinking or judgment is rarely due to the error of logic but more of the error in perception. And you do not expect to change such error with logic. It is futile to do so.

How to Cancel a Job Interview

By Alison Doyle
